NOTES ON THE CHURCH AND BELLS

Manaton have a nice little six although a little odd struck, especially the fourth. The bells themselves are quite interesting as three of the bells are medieval. One being cast in the foundry of Robert Norton about the end of the 15C two others were cast locally by Johanna Hill, widow of a London bellfounder and marks indicate a date between 1440 and 1443.

The local pub is called the Kestor Arms. Not bad food and reasonably priced, beer is generally OK with a couple of real ales on tap.
